Scientists claim to have proven that walking in the snow or frost makes you feel better about yourself. Polish researchers recruited 87 women and asked them to go on a walk for about 40 minutes in an area covered in snow. A questionnaire was filled in before and after the chilly stroll to gauge how people felt about themselves. Post-walk scores averaged out to be 3.9 on this scale, while before the walk, it was 3.61, indicating higher levels of self-appreciation. Scientists say that natural “white spaces” is the reason for the improvement one sees in their body image. Previous studies have shown green and blue spaces are beneficial, but no studies have been winter-specific.
