A dog owner’s personality can predict how well a dog with behavioral problems will respond to training. Researchers followed 131 dogs and their owners as they attended training sessions with a veterinarian. The dog owners took personality tests and completed surveys to see how attached they were to their dogs. It was found that dogs are more likely to change their bad behaviors if their owners are extroverts and open-minded. Dogs with introverted and conscientious owners were less likely to change their bad behaviors.
