Lionel Messi is set to be transferring from French champions Paris St-Germain to Inter Miami. The legendary footballer wanted to remain in Europe for another season, however, no satisfactory offers were received. Messi’s two-year contract with PSG comes to an end this summer. With the team, he netted 32 goals in 75 games and ended this season with 16 goals and 16 assists in Ligue 1. This will be the first time the former Barcelona star player will play professionally outside of Europe. Inter Miami FC, based in Fort Lauderdale, has included collaborations with brands such as Adidas and Apple in the contract. According to reports, he had a choice between Inter Miami and Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal. It was suspected that he was favoring a move to Al-Hilal to join Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in the league. The 35-year-old footballer has won the award for the world’s best player seven times throughout his career and is set to win again this year. Reports have also suggested that the Argentine star will earn up to $100 million a season for signing with Inter Miami.
