Rene Higuita Rene Higuita was arrested in 1993 and later convicted for his involvement in a kidnapping case. He was accused of acting as a mediator in the kidnapping of a wealthy businessman, Alberto Piedrahita, who was held for ransom. He was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison and served nearly six years before being released on parole in 1998. Joey Barton Joey Barton has a history of violent behavior, having been convicted twice for charges related to violence. In the first incident, he was found guilty of assault after he drove his car into a pedestrian in Liverpool City Centre. After his release, he received a four-month suspended sentence for assaulting his former teammate Ousame Dabo.
