In an interview with L'Équipe, Hugo Lloris, the captain of Les Bleus, confirmed he was putting an end to his international career. Hugo Lloris, 36, has been capped a record 145 times for the French men’s side, being captain since 2010. The international footballer made his international debut in November 2008 against Uruguay (0-0). He played his last game for France on Dec. 18 against Argentina in the final of his fourth World Cup. "After 14 years defending this shirt which I wore with great pleasure, pride, duty and a sense of responsibility, I believe I have reached the end," Hugo Lloris. The messages of support and gratitude to the captain of Les Bleus have not lacked. "Hugo has a very high idea of the French team, he has always been oriented towards the collective, he has always put it forward, sometimes even to his detriment," Didier Deschamps. Lloris is currently the goalkeeper of Tottenham Hotspur and his contract expires in 2024.
