The Saudi Pro League spent a record amount of money on players this summer, enticing them with mouth-watering wages. Among the top 10 highest-paid players in the SPL is Jordan Henderson, who is reported to earn between £18m and £36m. Henderson, who has denied the higher end of the reported pay package, could be earning up to £700,000 a week. Riyad Mahrez is next on the list, he is believed to be earning £25.6m a year after making the £30m move to Al-Ahli. Kalidou Koulibaly made the move to Al-Hilal after just one year at Chelsea and is set to earn £30m a year. Marcelo Brozovic is next on the list, he is reported to potentially earn up to £35m a year at Al-Nassr. Brozovic’s new teammate Sadio Mane lands just outside the top 5 but is still expected to make a sizeable £34m a year. Al-Ittihad’s new midfield duo of Fabinho and N’golo Kante are at 4 and 5, with the pair making £36.4m and £86.2m a year respectively. The top 3, as expected, are the three biggest stars in the league, starting with Neymar who will receive £129m a year at Al-Hilal. The Brazilian’s ridiculous pay package is dwarfed by Karim Benzema’s £172m a year the Frenchman will earn at Al-Ittihad. Number 1 on the list, unsurprisingly, is Cristiano Ronaldo, who, after joining Al-Nassr earlier this year, will earn £176.8m per annum.
