During a recent appearance on That Peter Crouch Podcast, Ed Sheeran revealed that he lost out on writing a James Bond theme song to Billie Eilish. Sheeran had started writing the ballad when they decided to change directors and scripts and go in a different direction. The songwriter said he was “within a f***ing gnat’s pube of doing one” and had “done all the meetings”. Instead, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas were chosen to create the No Time To Die theme song. The siblings went on to win an Academy Award, Golden Globe and Grammy for the song. Sheeran was “hurt” that he didn’t get to do the theme song for the iconic franchise but said that he would agree to do it again if he was asked. You’ve got to — eventually, as an English singer — want to do a Bond song, Ed Sheeran.
