Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is suffering from a "serious lung infection", the band has announced, forcing them to cancel upcoming shows in Brazil. Martin, 45, was diagnosed with a lung infection and “put under strict doctor’s orders to rest for the next 3 weeks”, the band wrote on Instagram. The band also said they would postpone shows until early next year. The band said they were "optimistic that Chris will return to good health after the prescribed medical break”. The band urged fans to hold on to tickets as they will remain valid for the rescheduled shows. However, they also said they would honor all requests for refunds.
