Singular living in Massachusetts mandates $87,909 but actual earnings average at $76,600. In California, the hoped-for $80,013 contrasts with the $73,220 reality. New York perpetuates its reputation, urging singles to earn $73,226, slightly below the $74,870 average. Similarly, Alaska invites solo dwellers with $71,570 ambitions against a statewide average of $66,130. Mississippi, America's poorest state, necessitates just $45,906 annually, a goal achievable with an average $45,180 income.
