Climate change continues to have a global impact, from hurricanes and floods to severe heatwaves, & experts say the situation is likely to deteriorate. Lifehacker has compiled a list of US cities with the best chances of surviving the devasting effects of climate change. San Francisco, California has a reputation for being immune to climate-related disasters with very few hurricanes and tornadoes recorded. Buffalo in Western New York is understood to be an unlikely place for natural disasters and has stable energy sources and a cool climate. Denver, Colorado is a great city to escape the effects of climate change due to its elevation and avoidance lack of extreme weather conditions. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is said to on average only experience 10 days of extreme heat and just 13 days of high humidity each year. Port city Seattle, Washington may seem strange to be considered safe from climate change but sea levels are only expected to rise 0.35% by 2050. Raleigh, the second largest city in North Carolina, is known for its clean energy infrastructure and healthy air quality. The risks of hurricanes, tornadoes and wildfires in Columbus, Ohio are extremely low, however, the city does experience extremely hot temperatures. Although these US cities are considered somewhat safe from climate change, nowhere is completely safe from nature's devastating disasters.
