While 'The Tortured Poets Department' has sold a total of 4.66 million album equivalent units with sales and streams combined. Some have criticized Swift for releasing several versions of ‘TTPD’, claiming she is exploiting her devoted fanbase. Billie Eilish criticized the practice as "wasteful," highlighting its environmental impact due to the increased production of CDs and vinyl.
