French President Emmanuel Macron has suggested that the Paris Olympics opening ceremony might be relocated. He proposed moving it from the River Seine to the Trocadéro or the Stade de France if necessary due to security concerns. Originally planned to cover a stretch of the river, the ceremony has been scaled down, with guests reduced from 600,000 to 300,000. Security concerns have been heightened by threats from groups like the Islamic State, prompting Macron to consider backup plans. Macron has stated that they will "analyse this in real time" and see when and if relocation is necessary. He also reiterated his commitment to achieving an Olympic truce during the games, seeking cooperation from international partners. The Olympic Games is set to take place from July 26 to August 11, followed by the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
